About: Special A is, yet another, typical shoujo anime. Which is why I like it so much. Ahem. The story revolves around Hikari Hanazono, an energetic, smart girl with kick-ass attitude. However, throughout her life, she’s always been second to her childhood friend, Kei Takishima. Her worse defeat was when they were 6 years old, induced by their pro-wrestling fathers, Hikari lost to Kei in wrestling. Ever since then, she swore to defeat Kei in every single thing: wrestling, studies, weird challenges.

Hence, she decided to enroll in the same school as Kei ever since elementary school. Now, she attends Hakusenkan, an ultra elite school with the top 7 students of each grade (A-F) placed in A class, known as Special A. Unfortunately, she is still number two, as compared to Kei, who holds the first position in the entire academy.

This story mainly focuses on Hikari’s attempts to defeat Kei, and on the way, she discovers *ahem* love *ahem* in their rivalry.
