I've found out that K-Lite Codec Pack would solve the problem of subtitles not showing in our MKV release of Toshokan Sensou episode 04.

I would suggest that you uninstall all the other codecs/codec packs (yes, CCCP included) before you install K-Lite Codec Pack. Version 3.8.5.0 Standard is good enough for your player (I'm using Media Player Classic v6.4.9.1) to load the subtitles automatically. Well at least this works for me.

Of course, you can always get the latest/updated KLCP v3.9.0 Standard here. It comes with the latest version of Media Player Classic v6.4.9.1 too.

Hope this helps. =)

------

PS: IMHO, KLCP PWNS CCCP.

PPS: WOW for the first time I can actually play the OP of Gattai's 1280x720 H264 Macross Frontier WITHOUT LAGGING! Sure, some frames did freeze occasionally on my not-very-powerful-four-year-old notebook, but generally the playback is quite smooth. If you experience audio/video syncing problem (like me), you might wanna try KLCP for a change. Even if it doesn't solve the problem of video/audio/subs lagging/not syncing/delaying/skipping/dropping a few frames, I think it does help alleviate it.

PPPS: I should've found out about this earlier T_T KLCP banzai!

My problem with all the MKV's released so far is that the audio and video don't sync up, it goes all choppy as well as constant random freezes/skips/blackouts, and the subs are delayed.
They are all disasters and keep forcing me to download the AVI versions... Even the OP and END which should be hard subbed show up grossly out of sync and do the same.

It kills me since I like this series and can't enjoy it at full res. I've tried CCCP, Media Player Classic, and VLC all without any luck.
Also tried changing the video renderer numerous times from VMR7->VMR9->Haali's with different disasterous results.

Sounds like I'm boned T_T

Ashlynne: Audio, video and subs not syncing means that your computer is probably not... powerful enough to handle the file.

AND since the OP and ED are hardsubbed, it's not at all surprising that the karaoke subs are delayed in your situation? Because you see, those subs are "burned" onto the frames that make up the video. When the video frames lag (ie they play out slower than your audio) you are bound to see the subs after you hear the sound.

I hope that clears up all doubts about video/audio/subs lagging/not syncing/delaying/skipping/dropping a few frames etc.

There're 2 other ways where you can still load the subtitle file that's muxed in the .mkv file that you downloaded.

------

1) If you're using Media Player Classic, go to Play -> Subtitles -> Enable.

BUT before that, you have to make sure that your DirectShow Video is set at VMR7 or VMR9 Renderless. [View -> Options -> Playback -> Output -> Direct Show Video -> VMR7 (renderless) or VMR9 (renderless)]

------

2) If you have the CCCP Codec Pack installed, you can always use the Zoom Player that comes with it to play this episode. (Assuming you have the player installed when you installed the CCCP Codec).

------

Hope this helps. If none of the above methods work, you can always download our subtitle script as provided and load it manually.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Edo: The OP and ED are usually hardsubbed

The XviD version works flawlessly. Previous episodes subbed by you also work. Just this one does not.

Stupid question, but where can I get your XviD Version? Mine (1024×720) isn't working fine, too.
The subs keep slowing down my computer and then my VLC player crashes.
I don't have any problems with your former episodes though.

Edo: Lol, you can always check it at the Ocha!Subs page.

I'm not getting any subs. It just displays the video and audio tracks.

This is the first time this has happened to me (at least in a very very long while) with a fansub.

Any notes on this?

Edo: Try to check your DirectVobSub settings. We used the same settings for previous episodes. We will look into this matter seriously. Sorry for the inconvenience caused T_T.

Worse case, you can always download our XviD version for now. T_T
