Finally, it’s out!
Sorry for the very long delay. I had my university business to attend to, same goes for Silencers. Also, the ED is quite different for this episode. Since our karaoke timer linkinstreet is very busy as well, please pardon us for the lack of the ED karaoke.
For those who like our subbing efforts, we thank you for your criticisms and encouragements. Although I’m kind of burnt out now, it’s been fun subbing Toshokan Sensou!
Last but not least, Ocha!Subs couldn’t have been possible without the help of these people:
- Edo: For encoding the the first 8 episodes.
- XRayMind: You people out there who couldn’t play MKV smoothly on your computers… Well you owe your thanks to him! The encoder for all 12 episodes of the XviD releases, and the last 4 episodes of Toshokan Sensou after Edo went MIA.
- Silencers: Our TL Checker. Thanks for re-phrasing some of my awkward sentences!
- linkinstreet: Well, what can I say except Wak! Kari Masin! Lol. I mean, thank you for the karaoke!
- Ashlynne: Well, no one thanks themselves. I shall represent Edo and say his thanks to me: “THANK YOU FOR SUBBING TOSHO SENSOU OTHERWISE I WOULD’VE DIED OF AGONY T_T TASUKATTA~ For that, I’ll belanja you up to RM50 worth of Japanese food at the coming Bon Odori to make up for all of this.” (Ash: Yay!)
Well, enjoy!
Toshokan Sensou 12 (1280×720)
Toshokan Sensou 12 (704×396)
Silencers’ Note:
As promised, we won’t be releasing a batch torrent until we fix some of the old episodes. If, however, you feel compelled to make your own batch out of our initial releases, you are more than welcome to do so. V2’s are coming as soon as I settle my worldly affairs XD

Congratulations on finishing, and thanks for the fansubs. It’s been a good series to watch.
ditto on the congratulations!! Even though this was a short series, I enjoyed it very much, and Toshokan Sensou has become one of my favorite shows. This is all thanks to you guys.
What’s next for ocha!-subs?
Thanks guys, for a great job! Any interest in doing Antique Bakery, Toshokan Sensou’s replacement in the schedule? I really appreciate the fact that you guys do avis, as my computer, even with VLC and that cccp plug in doesn’t do mkvs, which is what everyone seems to be doing nowadays. So far I’ve only seen gg’s fansub of Antique Bakery, and 1) it’s only available in mkv, and 2) I didn’t really like they way they did their subs. I bet you guys could do a lot better……. ^_^
Anyway, thanks again for this awesome show!
You are confusing the codec with the container. Your problem is that your old computer is too slow for the H.264 codec at HD resolutions. XVID at standard resolution is far less demanding. MKV has nothing to do with it. AVI is teh sucks. Hardsubs is teh suxx^2. VLC plays Matroska (MKV) just fine but MPlayer is a much better choice.
@Kurisu Not to start a debate on here or anything, but I’m…curious to know why you think avi is “teh sucks” and hardsubs is “teh suxx^2″.
AVI sucks despite some myths:
http://www.alexander-noe.com/video/amg/en_myths.html
Even though a lot of things may in theory be possible with AVI – things that Matroska is designed to support without any hacks out of the box – doesn’t mean that all/many encoders and players can do that.
Hardsubs suck because they…
- have fixed font, size and colour
- cannot be moved into the black bars, thus always overlap the picture
- reduce the compression efficiency (which means either larger files or worse quality)
- require re-encoding of the original video
- are unsuitable for re-subs, you’ll have to find raws instead (overlapping text) and also re-time the subtitles
Thanks so much for Toshokan Sensou! I’ve just finished watching the final one and… *grins*. Lovely! Gorgeous releases, too.
that ending was a tad simple……….its hard to find anime with perfect endings.
Thank you so much for subbing!!! It was a wonderful series! Congratulations on finishing!
I’ve found out while looking in the animesuki 3d for the series there’s a unrelesead episode in the second TS DVD http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=ACBA-10583
I have to ask :p : how likely would be for you you to tl that too ( provided you can get the episode someway ) ?
Thanks again from a bunch of Italian fans for working on the whole series anyway ^_^
*gives bouquet of chamomile flowers *
shocking end huh!
THNX for subbing such a great series ~!!!

Ashlynne: OI!!! I like the J-Dorama okay!!! Oishii cakes! /drools
@Kurisu:
I realize my computer is too old, and that’s why I prefer avis. Personally I don’t care about hardsubs, since I watch everything subbed.
@linkinstreet:
…. okay, whatever. I don’t get what you just said, but Antique Bakery isn’t a yaoi. It just has gay characters, and that isn’t even the focus of the show. It’s about four guys running a bakery, and one of them happens to be gay. It’s all right though, I just didn’t know if Ocha was going to start subbing something else, and was just asking. You didn’t have to get all psycho about it.
Chances are, Ocha isn’t going to do anymore subs – at least not until Edo starts going nuts again.
Antique Bakery sounds like a fun title to sub. Actually I’m thinking more towards Telepathy Shoujo Ran, which I might be picking up, but under a different group.
We’ll see :)
Thanks for this everyone, good luck with whatever you do next!
@Kogepan:
Nah, just kidding lol. Altho I do feel some weird aura emanating from that series
*shudders*
@Kurisu
What you are talking about is all for the encoders. Not the end user. And even then, you didn’t give me a reason for avi sucking. You just pointed out mkv’s good points.
AVI doesn’t suck for one reason. Simplicity. The end user doesn’t have to download a specific player to play them as just about every player can. For subs in particular, there’s none of the random noob out there having to spam forums because he doesn’t know how to turn on the text. It’s 1 file, no options, just get’s straight to what the user wants. A subbed anime.
The same can be said for hardsubs. This is especially true for the things that I do. Instead of having to break apart the file, reassemble it, encode to avi, then encode to mpeg-4 AVC, all I have to do is do 2 steps, set my options, and encode.
I’m not saying that I like avi over mkv, just that looking from the pov of an end user, I’d much rather just get what I want without any hassle.
Thx very much for subbing!! Is was GREAT!!
Hontoni Arigato!!
Thank you so much for all of your hard work on releasing Toshokan Sensou! It has been amazing to be able to watch this series, especially since you guys picked it up all the way to the very last episode. Thanks again ♥
Thanks to everyone for putting out such great subs for such a wonderful show. Your hard work is, without a doubt, greatly appreciated.
One of the better anime of the previous season. I’m happy that Doujo and Kasahara I’m glad you’ve finished it. Great work.
One of the better anime of the previous season. I’m happy that Doujo and Kasahara finally got together at the end. I’m glad you’ve finished it. Great work.
This was an incredible series, and thanks for subbing it!
I was just wondering, will there be another season or an OVA perhaps?
I know this is based off of a novel, and just wondering if there is more to come!
Thanks again!
cute anime..:)
Please Ocha! upload the .ass Files 1-12 please! ^_^
Hello
I’ve just finished watching Toshokan Sensou, and I am officially obsessed, thank you so much for your great subs.
I’m looking for the manga now, and hopefully I’ll get a hold of vol2 soon.
Anyway, I’ve showed the Anime to a couple of my friends, and we were thinking of doing a fandub.
Since we are still in high school, it won’t be anything amazing. But Toshokan Sensou doesn’t get enough attention.
So, I was wondering if it is ok to use your subs as a basis for the script? It’ll probably be unrecognizable by the time we’re finished since we need to change it to fit the timeframe.
But the original is still yours, so I thought it would be polite to get your permission first, we’ll make sure to credit you.
We would just like to get your consent first off.
