Yes. Macross Frontier Episode 7 is FRACKING AWESOME. It melted my brain.

When I watched this episode, it reminded me of something. Something that I thought I’ve lost it. But nay, it’s still there. This is something what I’ve been looking for since the Macross Frontier De-culture episode. THIS.IS.MACROSS!

This episode gave me all I’ve wanted in a Macross anime : Macross, Music, VF, and Fireworks. This episode made me shout “OH MAI GAWD” out loud. OMG. Now, this is “FAN” service.

Yes, I missed the concert + battle mix from the de-culture episode, they’re like endorphines for me. Who doesn’t? These are the scenes where I don’t mind rewatching over and over again. This ain’t “space battle”, this is “space battle the musical”.

Ok, “space battle the musical” sounds stupid.

Fine, enough with the “bitches”.

So, the SMS Macross Quarter DO transform, AWESOME. I was hoping for a slow and “very” technical transformation sequence scene like the one in Macross Zero, but there wasn’t any. Oh well, seeing the big transformable ship is satisfying enough. Btw, Macross Galaxy looked weird.

Epic space battle is awesome but I don’t want this series to be overloaded with it. I like it with some daily dramas here and there but not like episode 5.

Ooohh.. Fireworks!

Looking forward to next episode… I think. Let’s see what will happen when Ranka and Alto goes to the same school. AND NO LOLIS please, not in this series. I believe that I’m not the only one who thinks the appearance of a loli in this anime is a bad idea.

Disclaimer: Of course, this is just my speculation. It has none whatsoever to do with the real reason behind the (extremely) late English-subbed release.

This ENTIRE episode is FULL of Mahjong jargons! From the VERY START (Maybe not) till the VERY END (I’m exaggerating). It’s all about Mahjong from 2.xx till 18.xx minutes.

I guess this is where all the fansubbers for this series are stumped. Hmm…

Quick Episode Review

The Sakura Tree Spirit.

Since the spirit “stayed” at the cherry blossom tree in Doumeki’s house and couldn’t move on to the next realm after her death, Doumeki asked Yuuko to send her to where she belongs. Doumeki revealed that his prayers and chants weren’t powerful enough to send her away.

Hence, Yuuko decided to have a Mahjong session outdoor, under the cherry blossom tree. According to her, the sounds of the Mahjong tiles clattering against each other give the spirit some sort of blessing which would help her move along, presumably to an afterlife realm, instead of wandering in the realm of the living.

My Rants

Yeah, imagine that was me when I watched this episode.

I couldn’t get the jokes that revolves around Mahjong. Liek, it took me close to one hour to finish this episode because I had to pause almost every 10 seconds to read the TL notes on all these Mahjong jargons and/or scoring formaitons. Oh I watched the Chinese subs by the way.

Damn it! I seriously need to learn how to play Mahjong. Shame on me for being a Chinese and not knowing how to play the game. I mean, my grandpa was a veteran at it. He’s proabably rolling in his grave right now, scoffing at me for being totally clueless about Mahjong.

Must ask my sister to teach me Mahjong. Damn.

Having said that, I enjoyed watching this episode though. I mean, there wasn’t one xxxHolic episode that I didn’t enjoy. I absolutely LOVE Mokona’s antics. (Me goes KYA~~ again.)

To others, this series might seem boring, but if you really take your time to watch it, you’ll realise it’s more than that.

Can’t help myself from being fascinated with Golgo 13’s faces. You know what you should do when you see someone with this kind of face…

I’ve been tracking Macross Frontier from the start but just don’t have the time to blog about. Except for this, I can’t ignore this.

Seriously, what the hell is that? Just, “what the hell” is that? Who designed that backdrop? Who in this plane of existence would agree that it’s a good design for a backdrop!? It feels really out of place in this anime.

Sigh.

Lol, I guess the way he gets his name deserves a lot of airtime, after all, this series is not called Chi’s Sweet Home for no reason.

If you’re looking for a nice anime to give you a warm and fuzzy feeling when you’re stressed, Chi’s Sweet Home is really for you. Each episode is about 3 minutes long, hence there’s no reason for you to say that you don’t have time for this. I’m sure it’ll brighten up your day even if it’s just a little. =)
